The Vision

Join TravelMonkee Angels

The angel network will be manned by volunteers who will come to the aid of travellers, who have fallen on hard times.

The vision is to have a worldwide presence, and these people will offer help in the form of advice, aid and direction.

TravelMonkee will facilitate the organisation, and in time create a cash fund to assist in dire cases.

To be an Angel you will first have to submit yourself to a Police check and register a signed confirmation of who you are and witnessed by a Justice of Peace or Notary person

We believe that man longs to help one another, but often we lack the means to do so, TravelMonkee Angels provides that opportunity

Found on the side of the road, all ID and cards stolen

Found on the side of the road, all ID and cards stolen

Nobody ever sets out out on a journey expecting something to go wrong, we do take certain precautions i.e. we get travel insurance, (well that is the minimum) we make sure that we have got enough money and stash it away in safe places.

But what happens if something goes wrong?

What happens of we lose our ID, cash, luggage?

What happens if we are mugged, and all our earthly possessions are stolen?

Who really cares?

This is the reason we have started the Angels group.

We love our towns and country, and it makes us angry when we hear of a tourist has had their camper van broken into and they suffered the distress of the losing their belongings.

Often these people are left on their own, they report to the police and then are often forced to make long and expensive calls to home to try to get some funds transfered, but if they have lost their passports/money/ID’s it can be very tough and distressing

What the Travelmonkee network offers is support to the traveler that has suffered at the hands of some greedy thoughtless person.

Our vision is to create a network that is specifically aimed at coming to the aid of the traveler, we are product testing here in out little town of Taupo, but want to hear from you if you want to offer your services or time tot his project.

So tonight I went to Scenic Cellars Red Wine tasting event, now I don’t want you thinking that your favorite blogger is a big drinker, I aren’t.

However, good wine is like all things good, they should be appreciated!

So the Scenic Cellars is as the name suggests a wine cellar, with fantastic views, with tens of thousands of wines to tempt every palate and budget. What is so unique about the cellars is the underground experience, a staircase leads you down to a number of spaces, deep in the Taupo sub soil, it is here that you can truly appreciate the number and variety of wines.

Anyway getting back to the wine tasting, every month Scenic Cellars hosts an evening like this one, it is small and intimate group of about 30-40 people and with over 150 wines, teasing and tempting their palates with some extraordinary treats. And you don’t have to be a wine connoisseur to be there, I talked to a number of people that enjoy a nice wine, and tonight was seen as an opportunity to enlarge their knowledge, (at no risk). To the serious wine tasters who sniff, swirl and spit!

So TravelMonkee highly recommends the Scenic Cellars next time you travel to Lake Taupo, it is experience shopping at the best, but hey can’t wait to get to Taupo Scenic have one of the most comprehensive online shops, http://www.sceniccellars.co.nz/ where you can get that special wine. PS. after testing you get to take some of the wines home with you…I got the Frizzell! http://www.frizzellwines.co.nz/index.html

A great selection of Wines await you at Scenic Cellars
