Keeping safe down town

So the obvious thing when you travel is to experience the night life, why would you travel the other side of the world to sit in your accommodation and watch local TV, or worse still sticom reruns?

So the goal is to have a great time, and still be in one piece the next morning. So once you have checked into your accommodation, and of course they have a lock up safe in the room, put all your documentation and money that your don’t want to take with you. Take only enough money to get you through the night, and a another good idea is to grab the business card of where you are staying, this saves a lot of guess work if you forget where you are staying and trying to describe to the taxi driver!

It is quiet a good idea to ask your hosts, where the best place in town is, don’t be afraid to ask them places/pubs/areas to avoid, remember they want you to have a great time and tell all your friends to come and visit. Once out and about take care to not to flash too much cash about, this is where a hidden money belt is a real benefit.

Most locals will enjoy your company, but be wary of anyone that is too drunk or aggressive, make an excuse and leave the area, or at the very least inform the bar tender that you are concerned about the person that is hassling you.

I’m not going to lecture you about safe drinking, that is for you to work out, but being passed out from too much alcohol is a not a good idea. Better to have a great night, and still be able to enjoy the next days activities.

Enjoy our towns, we love having you visit!
